ARCHIVED - Covid Incidence rate in Andalusia drops slightly to 176.3; Covid update week ending June 21
1,329 new cases and seven deaths have been reported in the latest 24-hour period in the eight provinces of the Andalusia region
The Junta does not publish data on Sundays, so these are the last figures for this week.
On Saturday June 19 the Ministry of Health and Families of the Junta de Andalucía published the latest Covid-19 data for the eight provinces of the region, reporting 1,329 new diagnoses of coronavirus, slightly lower than the 1,453 reported on Friday 18 and lower than the 1,405 declared last Saturday.
The 1,329 cases of the last 24 hour period compare to 1,453 on Friday, 1,418 on Thursday, 1,196 on Wednesday, 1,267 on Tuesday, 1,315 on Monday and Sunday, and 1,405 last Saturday.
By provinces, Seville reported the highest figure with 348, followed by Malaga with 208, Córdoba with 172, Cádiz with 188, Granada with 175, Huelva with 101, Jaén with 97 and Almería with 40.
Within the latest 24 hour period there have been seven fatalities, higher than on Friday when one fatality was reported but lower than on Thursday when there were nine Covid-related deaths.
The seven deceased are from Malaga (three), Seville (two), Jaén and Cádiz (one)
The week concluded with the cumulative incidence rate across the region dropping to 176.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants across the last 14 day period; three points lower than on Friday and 11.4 points less than the rate of seven ago days.
However, Andalusia remains the region of Spain with the highest rate in the country, followed by La Rioja with 153.79 per 100,000.
The national average is now 95.91 cases per 100,000 and the lowest levels of Covid incidence are in the Balearic islands with 41.14; Valencia region and Galicia, which both have 41.23 cases per 100,000; Murcia with 45.99 and Extremadura 61.47.
