ARCHIVED - Andalusia reports another record-breaking week of Covid vaccinations: 600,000 to June 6
373,027 more people are now fully vaccinated
The Andalusia regional health authorities have reported another record week, and by Friday, June 4 had administered a total of 5,237,383 doses of the various Covid vaccines, beating their previous record by 25,880 in a 24 hour period.
During the period between Sunday May 30 and Saturday June 5, the region administered 587,394 vaccines, 137,000 more than in the preceding week.
The total number of Andalucian residents who are now fully vaccinated is 1,924,290.
Andalucía has now fully immunised 22.7 per cent of its total population and 27.2 per cent of the population aged over 16 years of age, according to the Junta de Andalucia (the regional government of the eight provinces of the region).
According to the latest figures, vaccination in those aged over 80 is 100 per cent concluded; in the 70-79 age group 95.1 per cent of the population is fully immunised; in the 60-69 -year-old group a total of 21.1 per cent are fully immunised and 90.9 per cent have been given a first dose and in the 50-59-year-old age group, 20.9 per cent have been given two doses and 76.2 per cent one dose.
The Minister for Health and Families of the Junta de Andalucía, Jesús Aguirre, announced at the end of April that his department plans to dispense between 500,000 and 800,000 vaccines weekly from the end of May and vaccination will continue apace this week.
