ARCHIVED - Eight new electric vehicle charging points installed in Almeria port
The Andalusian city is working towards a cleaner future by taking steps to increase sustainability and reduce pollution.
Eight electric vehicle charging points have been created in Almeria port for public use as part of the council’s commitment to creating a more environmentally friendly city.
The new charging points are located on Muelle de Levante, by the Port Authority building, and in the Puerto Pesquero by the fish market.
Slots to use them can be booked and paid for via the "Place to Plug platform", which can be accessed online or via a mobile app.
These points come to join those already available inside the Maritime Station’s passenger car park, and there are also four points within the port facilities for the exclusive use of Port Authority vehicles.
Almeria council has said that it is vital for institutions to implement alternative technologies to set an example, as the future largely depends on our ability to reduce harmful emissions by encouraging more efficient, cleaner and more sustainable means of transport.
