ARCHIVED - Estepona council plants out more than 20,000 flowers in the Garden of the Costa del Sol
The new plants are part of a set of works to landscape Estepona, ‘the Garden of the Costa del Sol,’ in Malaga.
Following Estepona council’s recent works to improve walkways and public spaces throughout the town, officials have been planting more than 20,000 flowers to spruce up some of its most popular areas before the return of tourists this summer.
The plants, which include marigolds and petunias, will run along a stretch of promenade between avenidas Andalucia and Juan Carlos I and were harvested from the town’s own nursery, keeping costs low.
The landscaping works will also include a redesign of Estepona’s green areas as well as the pruning of all shrubs, trees and plants, and are part of plan to create attractive public spaces for both residents and tourists.
