ARCHIVED - Four new routes in new nature tourism guide published by Malaga council
The city in Andalusia received 400,000 visitors in 2019 who were interested in sustainable tourism and environmental itineraries, leading the authorities to look for ways to encourage responsible ecotourism.
Málaga council has launched a new ecotourism guide in Spanish and English with four new nature routes aiming to introduce visitors to the area’s rich environmental offering.
Ecotourism has become more popular than ever due to the pandemic, with locals and visitors valuing the chance to get out into nature and breath in some much-needed fresh air after a year of lockdowns and restrictions.
With this in mind, the guidebook, which will be available from the city’s tourism and environmental departments in paper or digital format, will provide visitors with useful information to help them plan their days out in nature.
The four new routes included in the guide are El Monte de San Antón, Paseo Litoral, Desembocadura del Guadalhorce and Los Almendrales, of differing lengths and with plenty to see on each.
