Hot weather warnings and downpours: Andalusia weekend forecast June 6-9
After reaching sweltering highs this Thursday, the heat will begin to relent on Friday with the arrival of rain
Andalucía weather warnings, Thursday June 6
More weather warnings for adverse phenomena have been issued across Andalucía this Thursday June 6, including not just yellow but orange alerts as parts of Córdoba and Jaén in the far north of the region reach 40ºC or even up to 42ºC, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
These weather warnings are in place this Thursday from 1pm to 9pm, as are yellow warnings in Sevilla and the inland parts of Granada. Meanwhile, in Almería, a yellow alert has been issued for strong coastal winds and high waves from 6pm until 4am on Friday.
In general, Friday should be a slightly less hot day and there is light rain forecast on the coasts of Huelva and Cádiz during the afternoon, even as the sun keeps shining through the clouds. While Córdoba cools down, Almería will still remain around 35-36ºC, being the hottest place in the region on Friday.

It is on Saturday 8 when the weather takes a turn for the wetter. Rain is forecast for the first half of the day across almost the entire region, with the exception of Almería. Aemet have updated their forecast to include Málaga in the list of provinces that will receive the blessed rain on Saturday morning.
The rain brings with it falling temperatures, and instead of reaching into the 30s and even up to 40ºC, maximums will be more in the mid-20s range for the rest of the weekend, with minimums at night mostly unchanged.

It will be a dry night, but then more rain is forecast for Sunday in the western half of the region, at least for the morning, before it clears up again towards the afternoon. This pattern looks to repeat itself over the coming days, with cooler temperatures and intermittent showers forecast for the beginning of next week.
