Lorca public transport: Railway stations
The main station of Lorca is Sutullena just outside the city centre
The city of Lorca has two railway stations, the main one being Sutullena while a secondary facility is the station of San Diego in the east of the city.
Trains stopping at Lorca-Sutullena include the Talgo Mare Nostrum Service to Barcelona (once daily), while mid-distance services take passengers to and from Alicante via Murcia. At the same time there are approximately a dozen trains per day connecting Lorca with Murcia and Alicante on the C2 “Cercanías” local service.
The station of San Diego is used only by the C2 trains.
Sutullena station suffered considerable damage as a result of the earthquakes which hit Lorca in May 2011, but has now been fully restored.
Lorca-Sutullena is located on the south-eastern edge of the city in Plaza de los Carruajes, while San Diego is a couple of kilometres away in the north-eastern outskirts of the city.
It is advisable to speak to the tourist information office in Lorca if seeking assistance with public transport scheduling information as they are generally able to assist travellers without their own vehicle.
