Located on the main Ronda Poniente road which skirts the western edge of the town of Fuente Álamo, the Maskota veterinary clinic offers a full range of health services for pets, provided by staff who are comfortable speaking both English and German as well as Spanish.
As well as selling a full range of pet products, and offering a full veterinary service, the two head vets are specialized in abdominal and ophthalmic surgery as well as in general traumatology-related operations, and the premises of Maskota are equipped with two fully appointed operating theatres alongside the consultation rooms, a laboratory and isolation rooms for animals which may be carrying dangerous infections.
On top of which, of course, they sell a full range of general products for animal well-being including the essential products to deal with the ticks, fleas and mites which thrive in the warm climate of southern Spain, and which can be such a nuisance to dogs and cats, especially those with long coats!
Full dog-grooming and feline hairdressing services are also available, as well as show-grooming for those who show their pets.

The two head vets at Maskota have over 20 years of experience in general veterinary practice and carrying out operations, and are well versed in both abdominal and ophthalmic surgery as well as traumatology-related procedures. In fact there are two surgeries within the clinic, which is also equipped with five consultation rooms, three hospitalization rooms (for cats and dogs which may be carrying dangerous infections, a laboratory and technology such as an ultrasound scanner, and electrocardiograph, x-ray facilities with digital reveal and bio-chemical analysis equipment.
The vets are supported by two auxiliaries, one of whom is a native English speaker, and for those whose Spanish is rather shaky when talking about canine and feline illnesses and ailments this guarantees that nothing gets lost in translation!
At the same time, it goes without saying that all of the staff are more than familiar with the particular problems which the warm climate in this part of Spain can cause, including the proliferation of ticks and insect bites which are can be an unpleasant novelty for those coming to the Costa Cálida from northern Europe.
Dog grooming and feline hairdressing services are also provided, with exhibition grooming an option for anyone who is especially proud of their pets!
