ARCHIVED - More than 50,000 vaccinated Andalucians have downloaded new Covid certificate in 48 hours
Vaccinated Andalucians have been downloading their Covid certificates ahead of international travel this summer.
In just under 48 hours after a programme to download digital Covid vaccination certificates went live in Andalucia, 54,000 vaccinated locals have already downloaded their certificates.
The certificate, which is available from the ClicSalud+ website and the Salude Andalucia app, is available to those aged under 65 who have been fully vaccinated with either the one-dose Janssen jab or two doses of another vaccine.
Those aged over 65 will receive their certificate by post.
In total, 3,569,210 Andalucian locals have now received at least one dose of the vaccine and the region is one of the first in Spain to test the Covid certificate programme, which will be used to open up international travel this summer.
From July, the whole of Spain is expected to offer the certificates, which will allow those who have been fully vaccinated, have had a PCR test, or had the virus to travel quarantine-free within the EU.
Spain’s central government has placed individual regions in charge of rolling out the vaccine certificates locally, with each region introducing different ways to obtain them.
