ARCHIVED - Motorist rams stolen car into parked vehicles in Malaga before calmly walking away
The 20-year-old man was filmed slamming the car into half a dozen vehicles in the Martiricos neighbourhood of Málaga
Police in Málaga have arrested a 20-year-old Moroccan man who was filmed ramming a stolen Seat Toledo into six cars parked in the Martiricos neighbourhood before spending several seconds collecting his possessions from the passenger seat, and calming walking away.
Although six cars were hit, nine were damaged in just 15 seconds, as several passersby watched on.
The shocking scenes unfolded at around 3.15pm on Saturday October 16 in Plaza Conde de Ferrería, and a video, taken by a neighbour and posted on social media, shows the driver apparently unfazed by the damage caused and the fact there are witnesses.
Several people called Málaga Local Police, who took statements and discovered the car had been stolen the previous day.
Armed with a description and video images, officers located and arrested the suspect in Cruz de Humilladero the following day, when he admitted he didn't have a drivers' licence, and is an irregular immigrant.
Elsewhere in the province, a police officer narrowly escaped being run over by a drunk driver, seven times over the alcohol limit, who sped through a routine control in Casabermeja.
At around 1.30pm on Saturday, police were carrying out checks near a petrol station when they noticed a car approaching at speed and clearly ignoring officers' signals to stop the vehicle.
Instead, he stormed through the control, forcing an officer to jump aside to avoid being run over.
The driver allegedly fled at high speed and headed towards the town centre before he was finally intercepted in a car park. He was breathalysed and found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.75 mg/l, seven times the maximum legal level of 0.25.
The drunk driver was arrested and charged with an offence against road safety and reckless driving.
