ARCHIVED - Motorists stuck in 15km tailbacks after car overturns on the A-7 Marbella
The right lane of the motorway towards Malaga was closed following the accident
Rush-hour traffic was brought to a standstill and thrown into chaos on the Costa del Sol after a vehicle overturned on the A-7 in Marbella.
The accident happened at Las Chapas, kilometre 192 at 7.50am on Tuesday morning, May 24, forcing the closure of the right-hand lane towards Malaga.
And by 8.30am, motorists found themselves stuck in 15km tailbacks. As other drivers in the opposite motorway lane slowed down to 'rubber-neck', a 2km traffic jam soon ensued in the direction of Cadiz.
The 112 Andalucía emergency service coordination centre alerted police, fire brigade and health personnel, and there have been no reports of any injuries or details on the exact cause of the accident.
