ARCHIVED - RENFE expands train services from Cordoba to Madrid and Barcelona from June 7
RENFE its expanding its rail services from Cordoba in Andalucia to other cities in Spain from June 7.
As travel begins to reopen in Andalucia, RENFE has announced it is adding a further seven services in each direction on its Cordoba to Madrid line and two more on its Cordoba to Barcelona line in order to service a larger number of passengers over the summer.
The additional services will be offered from June 7, bringing the number of trains undertaking the trip daily between Cordoba and Madrid to 39, and the number of those between Cordoba and Barcelona back to their pre-pandemic levels.
The news means that the current long distance service connecting Cordoba and Barcelona via Valencia will remain in place, while the two new trains offered in each direction between Cordoba and Barcelona will both be high-speed services.
All Renfe's AVE, Alvia, Euromed and Intercity services comply fully with health service hygiene guidelines and the company says it is carrying out further cleaning on each of its trains to keep passengers safe.

Travel companies across Andalucia are currently gearing up to receive more travellers to the region with a rail service between Malaga and Sevilla also reopening in time for summer.
