ARCHIVED - Thief arrested in Andalucia after getting her arm stuck in parking meter
The suspect became trapped when she tried to steal money from the public machine in the Andalusia town of Ronda
The National Police in Ronda in the Andalucían province of Malaga arrested a 44-year-old Spanish woman in the early hours of Friday morning, September 24, after they discovered her with her arm trapped in a parking meter. The woman allegedly became wedged in the machine when she tried to steal the money inside.
Official sources report that the officers found the woman at around 3:45am in a car park on Calle Comandante Salvador Carrasco, after a concerned resident called the police when they heard the would-be thief calling for help.
A statement confirmed that the woman confessed that she had been trying to rob a few coins, and when her arm was eventually released from the parking meter, police found that she had been using a pair of scissors to try and manipulate the money slot.
The thief, who had been arrested twice in the last month for crimes against property, was detained and will be charged with attempted robbery.
