Three dogs burned alive in Huelva after woman sets fire to row of homes after break-up with ex
Only one of four inhabited wooden chalets in the Andalucian town of Cartaya, Huelva was undamaged in the arson attack
A 32-year-old Huelva woman has been arrested for allegedly starting a huge fire that destroyed three wooden homes in Cartaya and killed three dogs that had been locked in one of the bedrooms.
The sick arson attack on La Estacióna industrial estate happened at around 3.20pm last Saturday and the prime suspect was detained three days later.
According to police sources, the 32-year-old locked the dogs in a bedroom at one of the homes - where he ex-partner lived - before starting the fire that spread rapidly throughout the interior and to two adjoining properties.
Only one of the four houses in the street remained unscathed "despite the size of the fire and the virulence of the flames at certain times".

Thankfully, there were no human casualities although the residents whose homes were affected lost everything. Cartaya Town Hall has put them up in a municipal shelter for the time being.
In a statement, the local authority said it "acted urgently to attend to the basic needs and facilitate the provisional relocation of the residents".
Mayoress, Pepa González Bayo, "went to the scene immediately", and thanked "the rapid intervention of the Fire Department, Guardia Civil, the Municipal Areas of Works and Services, and Local Police in preventing personal injury".
Emergencias 112 Andalucía also confirmed that three dogs had tragically died in the blaze, but no people were hurt "despite the fact that the houses were inhabited"
They added that things could have been far more catastrophic given that a tyre workshop and a petrol station are located just a few metres from the razed homes.
