ARCHIVED - Two-year-old Murcia boy tragically dies in freak accident playing in the street
The child collided with another minor, fell backwards and suffered fatal head wounds in Abarán, in the Region of Murcia
A two-year-old boy has tragically died after colliding with an older child whilst they were playing with a group of youngsters in the street in an Abarán neighbourhood. The toddler fell backwards and hit his head, suffering fatal injuries on Monday evening, October 3, according to police sources.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene but could do nothing to save the little boy, who died almost instantly. Also on the scene were members of the Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil and the judge on duty.
The Guardia Civil has confirmed that the first hypothesis is accidental death, although investigative proceedings have been opened and a post-mortem will take place today (Tuesday) to determine the exact cause of death.
