ARCHIVED - Travel to northern Spain in 2023: New international flights for Asturias airport
Passengers can travel to the north of Spain from eight international destinations next year
With the addition of several new Ryanair flights, Asturias Airport (OVD) in northern Spain, which is located close to the popular cities of Avilés, Gijón and Oviedo, will now offer connections with no fewer than eight international destinations, the largest number ever.
Passengers can fly to Asturias from the following:
- Amsterdam
- Brussels/CRL
- Dublin
- Dusseldorf/NRN
- Frankfurt (from April 23)
- Lisbon (from March 31)
- London/LGW
- London/STN
- Milan/BGY (from March 28)
- Munich (from April 29)
- Paris/ORY
- Rome/FCO
Spanish airline Vueling currently operates regular routes between Asturias and London Gatwick, Paris and Amsterdam while last month, Europe’s Europe’s largest low-cost airline Ryanair inaugurated five additional trips: London Stansted, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Rome-Fiumicino and Brussels South-Charleroi.
Flights between the northern Spanish destination and Frankfurt, Lisbon, Milan and Munich will be added to the list in March and April next year.
The different airlines have scheduled more than 865,000 flights to and from Asturias airport this autumn/winter season, which runs until March 25. This is an impressive 38% increase compared to the 2019-2020 period, according to Aena.
