ARCHIVED - Almeria builds new scenic Cabo de Gata cycle path
The track will mean tourists can bike from Almeria city to the Almadraba de Monteleva through the beautiful Cabo de Gata Natural park
Almeria City Council has commissioned a project to create a 5km cycle path that will connect the Andalucia city with the Almadraba de Monteleva and will give incredible views of the natural park of Cabo de Gata and the Mediterranean Sea.
The contract for the construction of the cycle path has already been awarded by the Local Government Board to the company Viasur Prevención e Ingeniería. The project will involve the adaptation of the old road from Cabo de Gata to Almadraba for use as a tourist route for cyclists that goes along the scenic Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park.
It will cost around 200,000 euros and should be ready around two months after the contract is signed.
