The start of July brings more high temperatures to Andalucía. While coastal areas will enjoy slightly lower temperatures to last week (mostly in the high twenties to low thirties), inland provinces are heating up once again and are in for another scorcher of a week, with weather warnings already in place. Skies will stay mostly clear, but afternoon cloud could bring the odd storm in the sierras, and breezy Levante winds will continue to sweep through the Strait.

 

 

Another very hot start to the week, with Seville peaking at around 42ºC. Skies will be mostly clear, though some cloud is expected to build later over the eastern sierras and Sierra Morena, where a few isolated showers or storms are possible. Light, variable winds inland, with a moderate Levante breeze through the Strait and around Málaga and Tarifa.

 

 

Temperatures are once again forecast to reach highs of 40ºC in Seville, 41ºC in Córdoba and 39ºC in Jaén. Expect sunshine across the board with a few clouds developing inland later in the day. The risk of a thunderstorm remains in higher ground areas like around Granada. Winds will stay light and variable for most, but the Levante will continue to blow through the Strait and along the eastern Mediterranean coast, affecting places like Almería.

 

 

Similar conditions on Wednesday, with clear skies and another hot day in store. Some cloud will build again in the sierras during the afternoon, but showers are expected to be few and far between. Temperatures will hold steady, especially across inland areas like Córdoba. Winds will remain light inland and moderate along the Strait.

 

 

A little change for the west of the region, where maximum temperatures will begin to ease slightly, especially around Huelva and Cádiz. Elsewhere, the heat continues with little variation. Low cloud may form along the coast during the morning, and there’s the usual afternoon cloud over the sierras. Winds will stay light and variable.
