This weekend in Andalucía will bring plenty of sun and rising temperatures, especially inland. While the heat peaks early in the forecast, it eases slightly in the west by Saturday May 31. A light veil of Saharan dust, or ‘calima’, will linger, and some isolated mountain showers could pop up, but overall, it’s dry and settled for most.

 

 

Inland areas like Seville, Córdoba and Jaén are set for very hot conditions, with highs climbing steadily and yellow and orange weather alerts for highs of up to 39ºC and 40ºC all weekend long. Skies will be mostly clear, though some cloud may build in the mountains by the afternoon. A fine dust haze could drift in from the southwest later in the day. Light to moderate easterly winds are expected, stronger along the Cádiz coast and through the Strait.

 

 

A mix of sunshine and high cloud will sweep across the region. In places like Granada and Málaga, temperatures will stay warm, with a slight chance of a light afternoon shower in the nearby sierras. Dust will still be in the air, especially further east. Winds remain light and variable inland, with a steadier easterly breeze along the Mediterranean and through the Strait near Tarifa.

 

 

Temperatures ease slightly in western areas like Huelva and Cádiz, while the rest of the region holds steady. Expect clear skies again, with some afternoon cloud over the mountains. Winds stay light, turning southerly in the afternoon. The Levante breeze will continue to blow through Almería and the Strait, occasionally picking up.

 

 

The weekend ends on a settled note. Most of Andalucía, including Almería and Jaén, will enjoy mostly sunny skies with little change in temperature. Some afternoon cloud may develop over the hills, but no rain is expected. Winds remain light, with a touch of afternoon southerly inland and moderate Levante winds along the coast.

 

 

In short, it’s shaping up to be a warm and mostly pleasant weekend. If you’re in the interior, keep cool in the peak heat and expect a little dust in the air. On the coast, the breeze will offer some relief, and most places should stay dry right through to Sunday.
