ARCHIVED - Andalucia weather forecast April 24-30: Temperatures will hit close to 40 degrees in heatwave
The heatwave spreading across Spain this week will bring temperatures of almost 40ºC/104ºF to Andalucía
The central areas of Seville and Cordoba – almost always the hottest parts of the autonomous community of Andalucia – will have temperatures of up to 39ºC this Friday April 28 in what meteorologists are calling “exceptional” circumstances.
While it will not be quite so hot in other parts of the region, it will by no means be a chilly week for anyone, with both daytime and night-time temperatures rising significantly.
Even at the start of the week, by Monday April 24, temperatures will already be over 30ºC in those central areas, while the coastal areas of Malaga, Cadiz and Almeria will top out at 24-25ºC.

Tuesday April 25 will bring some foggy conditions for Almeria and for parts of coastal Granada like Motril. Temperatures there will once again be in the mid-20s, while further inland this rises up to the mid-30s.

Even as the cloud cover begins to thicken across Thursday 27 and Friday 28, the temperatures will rise until they hit a ceiling of 39ºC in Écija, Seville and Almodóvar del Río, Cordoba. The surrounding areas will also have temperatures well in excess of what is normal for this time of year, up to 37-38ºC.
Again, on the coast this will be less severe, with the temperatures at the hottest point of the day struggling to break the 30-degree barrier.

As of Saturday April 29, the extreme heat begins to abate and it will be a more bearable May Bank Holiday weekend. In Granada’s Sierra Nevada, they’re even forecasting rain for the weekend.

Nonetheless, it’s well to remember that heat can be a killer, and authorities are reminding people to follow safety precautions for hot weather in Spain.

- Tuesday April 25: Min 11ºC; Max 35ºC
- Wednesday April 26: Min 12ºC; Max 37ºC
- Thursday April 27: Min 13ºC; Max 39ºC
- Friday April 28: Min 14ºC; Max 39ºC
- Saturday April 29: Min 15ºC; Max 33ºC
- Sunday April 30: Min 13ºC; Max 35ºC
