Andalucia placed on alert this Wednesday and Thursday
The Spanish Met Office has warned of storms, heavy rain and driving winds this Wednesday
Andalucía weather warnings, Wednesday June 19
After rain and strong winds were forecast for the autonomous community of Andalucía in the south of Spain this week, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued yellow-level weather warnings for various provinces.
On Wednesday June 19, the coast of Almería province is on alert between 4pm and midnight for winds of around 40-45kmh and which could, at points, be as strong as 50-60kmh. Aemet also warns of waves that could reach up to 3 metres high, so it’s not a good day for swimming in the sea.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the community, The inland parts of the province of Huelva and the northern Sierra of Seville are on yellow alert between 12pm and 10pm for the risk of storms and for rainfall which could leave up to 15mm of accumulated water per hour.
For Thursday June 20, only the weather warning for winds in Almería will still be in place between 12am and 5am.
After that, the wind is forecast to die down and there will be no more rain for the rest of the week.
