ARCHIVED - Andalusia extends the age for booster shots to 52-year-olds
Anyone over the age of 52 can now book an appointment to get their Covid booster jab
From today, Monday January 10, people aged 52 and over will be able to make an appointment to receive the third dose of the Covid vaccine in Andalucía, according to the ClicSalud+ website. Appointments can be requested through the ClicSalud+ website, the mobile app and the Salud Responde telephone number (955 54 50 60), as well as at health centres.
From tomorrow, January 11, people over the age of 55 will be able to go to any of the walk-in vaccination points to get their booster shot without an appointment. In the case of adults receiving the third dose, they should be aware that it is indicated in the following cases:
- Six months have passed since the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna.
- Three months have passed since the second dose from AstraZeneca.
- Three months have passed since the Janssen vaccination.
- Those who received a dose from AstraZeneca and a dose from Pfizer or Moderna should not seek vaccination for a third dose at this time. This is because the immunity from these combination schedules has been shown to be more potent and prolonged over time.
The walk-in vaccination points are only available to three groups of people:
- People over 55 years of age
- People over 12 years of age who have not received any doses, or who need a second dose to complete the established schedule for their age group.
- People vaccinated with Janssen who need to receive the second dose.
