Andalusia weather forecast July 15-21 provides no respite
The scorching heat will be accompanied by Saharan dust later in the week
It will be another hot July week in Andalucía, with temperatures remaining at a very similar level to where they were last week.
Yellow-level weather warnings have been issued by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) at various points for high temperatures bordering on 40ºC, mostly in the villages of Almería, Granada and Jaén and the province of Córdoba.
In Málaga’s Costa del Sol and along the coast of Cádiz it will be cooler, with maximum temperatures on some days this week not even breaking the 30-degree barrier. But Almería will be warmer, and the interior, as usual, will have maximums that are significantly higher.
Andalucía weather forecast, Tuesday July 16
At nights, it will be around 19-24ºC in the whole region, with the cooler end of this scale felt inland and the warmer temperatures on the coast.
There are some cloudy patches over the course of the week, but mostly it will be very sunny and on Wednesday July 17 and Thursday 18 there is also a “chance of suspended dust on the coast,” according to Aemet.
This Saharan dust, known in Spanish as ‘calima’, is a semi-regular weather phenomenon in southern Spain and leaves a fine coating of reddish-brown dust on surfaces.
There is little chance of rain this week, with only the possibility of a few drops in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Granada on Friday 19. All the rest of the time it will be sunny and partly cloudy in Andalucía.
