With the exception of some localised rain showers in the east of the autonomous community, this week is forecast to bring another warm and sunny summer spell to Andalucía.
For the most part, temperatures will be in the mid-30s during the day and hovering around 20ºC at night, but inland areas will have higher daytime temps approaching 40ºC at times.
For Monday August 12, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts “predominantly clear skies” with “intervals of low clouds and mist on the Mediterranean coast and the western third, where fog is not ruled out. Daytime cloudiness in the mountain ranges of the eastern interior, with a slight chance of occasional showers. Temperatures unchanged or falling, except in areas of Huelva, Cádiz and Málaga, where maximum temperatures will rise. Variable light winds, increasing to light to moderate westerly winds. Occasionally strong westerlies in the Strait of Gibraltar.”
Tuesday 13 (unlucky for some) brings “fairly cloudy skies, with intervals of high clouds. Morning low cloud intervals in the area of the Strait of Gibraltar and the coast of Almería. Daytime cloudiness in the eastern interior. Minimum temperatures unchanged; maximum temperatures rising on the coasts of Huelva and Málaga, and unchanged or falling in the rest. Light variable winds tending to westerly, with moderate intervals in the western half and the Mediterranean coast.”
It is on Wednesday 14 when the rain sweeps down from Valencia and the east, but in Andalucía it will only reach Almería and parts of Jaén, and not much further. It will bring falling temperatures to the area, though, which can expect a slightly cooler rest of the week thanks to an easing of the atmospheric pressure by the storms, which continue on Thursday 15.
For the rest, Thursday and the rest of the week will be clear and sunny, with temperatures staying around the same level and continuing “moderate” winds on the Mediterranean coast and around Gibraltar.
