Andalusia weekly weather forecast August 19-25
Parts of Andalucía have been issued with heat alerts at the beginning of the week
Warnings for high temperatures on Monday August 19
It’s going to be a fairly changeable week in Andalucía but as always, the one constant will be the heat. At the beginning of the week, the heat alert has been escalated to orange in Cordoba but these warnings will be downgraded as the days go by, disappearing altogether by the weekend.
Several weak Atlantic fronts are approaching Spain and this could result in some showers in Andalucía, but any rain will be generally light and confined to inland areas.
The winds will be light to moderate for the most part, but they could gather strength in stormy areas.
Most of the region can expect a bright and sunny day on Monday August 19, although the cloud cover will begin to build during the afternoon in the inland mountain ranges.
Daytime temperatures will take a noticeable dip in the likes of Malaga and Cadiz but several areas remain on alert because of the heat. Specifically, an orange warning will be in place in Cordoba from 1pm to 9pm, while yellow warnings have been activated in Granada, Huelva, Jaen and Sevilla.
Very few changes are expected on Tuesday August 20, but the overcast skies inland could result in the occasional shower or thunderstorm in the east during the afternoon.
Temperatures will drop considerably in the Guadalquivir valley but there should be few changes elsewhere.
Yellow heat alerts are in place for Cordoba, Huelva and Jaen.
Partly cloudy or clear skies are forecast for Wednesday August 21, with intervals of low clouds in the morning in the Strait. There’s a chance of showers and stormy episodes in the east, but rain is more likely inland.
Daytime temperatures should take another dip, and as a result, all of the heat alerts have been lifted.
The threat of showers and storms inland will persist on Thursday August 22 but the day should be mostly bright and sunny elsewhere, aside from a few early morning clouds on the Atlantic coast.
Temperatures will continue to fall ever so slightly and the morning will be very blustery on the Almeria coast.
This stability will continue on Friday August 23 and throughout the weekend in Andalucía, with mostly bright and sunny skies and very little rain forecast.
