Another weekend with warnings of extreme heat in Andalusia
These are the areas of Andalucía with a heat warning this weekend
Andalucía weather warnings, Friday June 23
For the second weekend in a row, large swathes of Seville, Cordoba and Huelva are on alert for the risk of very high temperatures, while the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has also issued warnings for strong winds on the coast of Cadiz and around Gibraltar.
On Friday June 23, Seville will be on orange alert from 1pm to 9pm for maximum temperatures reaching up to a sweltering 40ºC. Cordoba, Jaén and Huelva are all on yellow alert for temperatures of up to 38/39ºC.
On the coast of Cadiz and in the Strait of Gibraltar, meanwhile, they are expecting gale force 7 winds of between 52 and 61kmh.
Saturday will be even hotter over an even larger area, and the wind on the Cadiz coast will reach gale force 8, between 62 and 74kmh, in the morning.
Andalucía weather warnings, Saturday June 24
Sunday will not be so windy and there are no weather warnings issued for high winds on the coast, but the orange alerts for hot weather will spread east and west to cover more areas, with temperatures up to 41ºC in the countryside of Cordoba, Jaén, Seville and Huelva.
Andalucía weather warnings, Sunday June 25
This hot weather is due to continue in these areas next week. Throughout all this, the Costa del Sol and Almeria will get away with pleasant maximum temperatures in the low- to mid-30s.
In hot weather, be sure to drink plenty of water and watch out for signs of dehydration or sunstroke. Don’t hesitate to call the Emergency services on the phone number 112 if you think you or someone else needs medical assistance.
