ARCHIVED - Atypical temperatures continue into May: Andalucia weather May 1-4
Extreme highs for this time of year are expected to drop by the weekend in Andalucia

April will be remembered for an excessive, unseasonably intense heat that prevailed across much of Andalusia, and record temperatures for this time of year.
And while meteorological experts have stressed that weather forecasting in spring is more complex and less precise than at other times of the year, they are in agreement that the first few days of May, at least, will follow on a similar trajectory as April.
However, as we move into the weekend, the heatwave conditions should ease and maximum temperatures will stabilise between 23 and 30ºC.
Monday May 1 will get off to a cloudy start, particularly in the east and mountainous and coastal areas, and showers are likely. These could become heavier as the day progresses and thunderstorms have not been ruled out. Fog is also forecast along the coast, and while nighttime temperatures will fall, the mercury will creep up during the day inland.
Almeria: 17ºC to 23ºC
Cadiz: 18ºC to 24ºC
Cordoba: 12ºC to 34ºC
Granada: 10ºC to 32ºC
Malaga: 18ºC to 25ºC
Seville: 15ºC to 33ºC
It will be fairly cloudy across the board on Tuesday morning, May 2, particularly on the coast and the Strait of Gibraltar, where morning mist and fog are also likely. Again, the most notable change in temperatures will be during the day when highs of 36ºC could well be reached in Cordoba and Seville. Light easterly winds will feel more intense on the coast and Mediterranean side, increasing to very strong in the Strait of Gibraltar.
Almeria: 16ºC to 25ºC
Cadiz: 19ºC to 29ºC
Cordoba: 13ºC to 36ºC
Granada: 11ºC to 32ºC
Malaga: 17ºC to 26ºC
Seville: 16ºC to 36ºC
Clear skies with intervals of medium and high cloud will shape much of Wednesday May 3, along with a dip in temperatures in the west of the region, slight uptick in the rest. Easterly winds will tend towards westerly during the afternoon in the Strait, decreasing to light from mid-afternoon.
Almeria: 16ºC to 28ºC
Cadiz: 19ºC to 26ºC
Cordoba: 14ºC to 33ºC
Granada: 14ºC to 32ºC
Malaga: 17ºC to 23ºC
Seville: 17ºC to 33ºC
Cloud will prevail in the eastern sierras on Thursday May 4, with intervals of morning low cloud and mist in the north-west and Vega del Guadiana. Temperatures will fall, except for highs on the east of Almeria and the coast of Malaga. Winds from the west will feel more intense on the coast.
Almeria: 16ºC to 23ºC
Cadiz: 18ºC to 23ºC
Cordoba: 12ºC to 31ºC
Granada: 15ºC to 30ºC
Malaga: 16ºC to 25ºC
Seville: 16ºC to 30ºC
