Body of man found floating in Benalmádena marina prompts multi-agency response
Authorities mobilised after 57-year-old’s lifeless body spotted at Puerto Marina dock 3
On Sunday November 16 in the morning, emergency services were alerted to a lifeless body floating in the water at dock 3 of Puerto Marina, in Benalmádena.At approximately 8.45am, a member of the public called 112 Andalucía after spotting the body. This triggered a swift response from the 061 Health Emergency Centre, the Guardia Civil, Cruz Rojo (Red Cross), Salvamento Marítimo (Maritime Rescue), Policía Nacional and the Policía Local.
Health and police sources have confirmed the body belongs to a 57-year-old man, though details surrounding his death remain undisclosed as investigations continue.
Authorities are working to establish whether this was a tragic accident or if other factors are involved. The incident occurred just one day after Storm Claudia brought heavy rain and strong winds to the Costa del Sol, a factor investigators are taking into consideration.
No further information about the circumstances around the man’s death has been released yet as the case remains under active inquiry.
