Camposol moves a step closer to completing the dual carriageway
After challenges and delays on the dual carriageway project, the Camposol Business Association has received some good news

Following regular discussions between Mazarrón Town Hall and the Camposol Business Association, at a meeting on the morning of Friday March 7 the Mazarrón Councillor for Camposol, Carmen Navarro, informed the Business Association that earlier that morning Mazarrón Council's governing board had approved the project which will repair and complete the dual carriageway that runs through Sectors C and D of the urbanisation.
With the notification procedure of Mazarrón Council taking over responsibility for the public elements of the Camposol urbanisation progressing well, D Sector documentation is expected to be available from mid-March and the Town Hall is pushing ahead with the project, which is deemed a priority.
This follows the drafting of the dual carriageway project which was under way last year. The approved project carries an increased budget of just over 4.5 million euros (€4,560,203.87).

The project was drafted by Civil Engineering company EM4 Servicios de Ingenieria SLP and signed off by the company on February 20, 2025. The technical supervision report was then issued on February 24, 2025 by the Urban Planning Technical Architect and latterly approved by the Council's governing board at its meeting on March 7.
The project was initially instigated by Mazarrón Council in 2021 as part of the 'Mazarrón Urbano' initiative. However, the project – along with others in the municipality – has been delayed by numerous legal challenges, all of which have been rejected by the courts.
The planned project for Camposol is the asphalting of the dual carriageway and repairs to the pavement extending along Avenida de los Covachos from a point adjacent to the bridge between sectors C and D to the end of the dual carriageway at the junction with Calle Babinas which includes more than 3,268 linear metres of road and an approximate surface area including road and pavements of about 99,924.80 square metres.
It is hoped by Mazarrón Town Hall – and no doubt the residents and visitors to Camposol – that work will commence soon, particularly after recent heavy rain has exacerbated the pothole situation.
