Dead body found on Velez-Malaga beach

The body was found face down on the Andalucía beach this morning in an apparent case of drowning

The body of a man between 60 and 70 years has been found on a beach in Torre del Mar this Thursday July 13, in the municipality of Vélez-Málaga, as reported by police sources and Andalusia Emergency services 112.

The gruesome discovery was made at around 7.30am, when police received a call saying that there was a man face down on the shore who seemed to have drowned, in the area of the promenade west of Torre del Mar.

When police and other emergency response professionals arrived, they confirmed the man, who is thought to be a tourist between 60 and 70 years old, was dead.

An autopsy will now be performed to determine the causes of death and whether to open an investigation, according to police sources.
