Discover Vera, the popular Almería town that has just been named an official Tourist Municipality

The Almería town has long been a favourite for holidaymakers thanks to its mix of beaches, nature hikes, history and leisure facilities

The charming coastal town of Vera in the province of Almería has just been declared an official Tourist Municipality of Andalucía, joining neighbours Mojácar and Níjar in receiving this prestigious recognition.

This distinction highlights the town’s commitment to enhancing its tourism services and infrastructure, making it an even more appealing destination for visitors.

The purpose of declaring certain towns to be ‘Tourist Municipalities’ is to promote quality in the provision of municipal services to visitors.

Thanks to this recognition, the municipalities can access lines of aid to subsidise expenses and investments for the improvement of public spaces of tourist-cultural interest, providing material or equipment for these spaces.

As well as Vera, two other Andalucía towns have been made Tourist Municipalities at the same time – Castril, located in Granada, and Niebla, in the province of Huelva.

Why Vera has been awarded Tourist Municipality status
