Elderly foreigner drowns on beach in Marbella, Costa del Sol
The man was pulled from the water unconscious, and pronounced dead on the Andalucía beach

A foreign man sadly died on Saturday afternoon, October 7, on the Playa del Cabopino beach in Málaga’s Marbella, according to the 112 Andalucía emergency call handler centre.
Emergency responders received several calls from witnesses at around 2pm on Saturday to say that an elderly man had been pulled from the water unconscious and apparently having drowned in the Marina Cabopino area.
Some of the people who pulled him from the water were trying to perform CPR on him, but he was later pronounced to have died right there on the beach.
The man was identified as an elderly foreign tourist, but niether his age nor nationality were revealed. As yet, no further information has emerged on the exact cause of the incident.
The deceased’s wife also had to be treated by medical staff at the scene before being taken to the Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella.
