ARCHIVED - Famous Spanish flamenco singer arrested for domestic violence crime in Jerez
The singer, Diego ‘El Cigala,’ was arrested in Madrid after an alleged assault in Jerez in Cadiz, Andalucia.
The National Police have arrested flamenco singer Diego ‘El Cigala’ at a hotel in Madrid for alleged domestic violence.
The arrest took place at around 10 pm at the Hotel Catalonia Atocha in Madrid after the famous flamenco singer was accused of assaulting his partner in Jerez in Cadiz.
The singer is now being held at Madrid’s Centro district police station after also making headlines last month when he was involved in a minor traffic incident in the Dominican Republic, where he has resided since 2013.
The artist reportedly collided with another vehicle, leaving both damaged but no injuries.
Diego ‘el Cigala’ has had a successful career spanning more than 30 years and winning 6 Latin Grammys, 3 Music Awards and 2 Ondas Awards, as well as a Grammy nomination.
