ARCHIVED - Foreigner plummets to his death from Mijas hotel balcony
The man fell from the sixth floor of a Malaga building into the river below

A 38-year-old foreign national plunged to his death from the sixth floor of a Cala de Mijas hotel in the early hours of Friday March 17. When the emergency services arrived at the scene at Calle Butibamba shortly after 2.30am they found his lifeless body on the sandy banks of the river below.
An investigation has been opened into the circumstances surrounding the death of the man and a post-mortem will be carried out in an attempt to determine whether this was a tragic accident, a suicide or a more sinister event.
In January this year, two men lost their footing when climbing the facade of a building in Mijas and a third person was injured when he tried to break through the glass balcony door. According to official reports, the tourists had forgotten their room key and were trying to get into the hotel through the terrace.
And in 2020, two other men died at a luxury resort hotel in Marbella when one tumbled from his balcony and landed on another who was sitting on the terrace below.
