Granada-London Gatwick flights to resume this April
Tickets are already on sale for the Vueling flights between Andalucía and the UK
It is now possible to book flights between London Gatwick Airport in the UK and the Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport for less than 60 euros for a round trip with Spanish airline Vueling.
The Vueling website now allows passengers to book direct flights starting from Wednesday April 3.
There will be two flights per week going in each direction, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, leaving from Granada at 9am and returning from Gatwick at 4pm.
The cheapest flights can be found for 59.98 euros, but these don’t include any hold luggage. That’s the Vueling ‘Basico’ fare, which prevents you from choosing a seat and includes a charge if you cancel your booking.
However, low-cost fares such as these are unlikely to be found after Saturday June 22, which is when the summer high season begins.
The last possible date for these Gatwick-Granada flights currently available on the Vueling website is Saturday October 26. Beyond that date, there is no evidence that there will be direct flights between the two airports.
On the official Aena website for Federico García Lorca Airport, the destination London Gatwick does still not appear as a possible direct connection from Granada, suggesting that Vueling has gotten in ahead of the official airport operator.
