Heatwave pushes temps past 40 every day this week: Andalusia weather forecast July 10-16
The southern region of Spain is on red alert this week for extremely high temperatures
Andalucía weather warnings, Monday July 10
Insane temperatures in the south of Spain this week as there is not a single day this week that the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) hasn’t predicted that some part of the autonomous community of Andalucía will surpass 40ºC during the day.
The heatwave spreading across Spain will mean temperatures in Seville, Cordoba, Jaén and Granada – in fact most of the northern, inland parts of Andalucía – will be on orange and even red weather warning for extreme heat in the high-30s and up to 44ºC.
On the coast, namely the Costas of Cadiz, Malaga and Almeria it will generally not reach that high, and daytime maximum temperatures will reach the low- to mid-30s, which is still extremely hot.
Andalucía maximum temperatures, Tuesday July 11
No rain is forecast at all, not even in the mountain ranges of Granada, Jaén or Huelva, and we can expect only sunshine with some occasional scattered cloud cover.
The coast of Cadiz can expect its usual Levante winds that are stronger than elsewhere in the region, bringing a cooling influence, while in parts of the Huelva and Granada high altitude areas it will even fall below 20ºC at night-time, which will not happen anywhere else in Andalucía this week.
Beware if you are in the big city this week and prepare for some sleepless nights as the so-called ‘heat island’ effect mean that cities like Seville and Cordoba turn into ovens as the heat is captured and stored by the buildings and road surfaces and it doesn’t cool down in the city the same way as it does in the countryside.

- Monday July 10: Min 19ºC; Max 45ºC
- Tuesday July 11: Min 19ºC; Max 43ºC
- Wednesday July 12: Min 20ºC; Max 44ºC
- Thursday July 13: Min 20ºC; Max 43ºC
- Friday July 14: Min 21ºC; Max 42ºC
- Saturday July 15: Min 19ºC; Max 41ºC
- Sunday July 16: Min 19ºC; Max 42ºC
