Hot hump day: Heat warning issued in 5 Andalucia provinces this Wednesday
Aemet has issued a yellow warning for high temperatures in five Andalusian provinces on Wednesday
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated a yellow warning for high temperatures in five Andalusian provinces this Wednesday July 3, specifically in Cádiz, Córdoba, Huelva, Jaén and Seville.
According to information from Aemet, the alert will affect: the Cádiz countryside; the Córdoba countryside; the Andévalo and Condado areas of Huelva; the Guadalquivir Valley in Jaén and Morena and Condado; and in Seville, the rural areas.
This warning will remain active in these areas between 1pm and 9pm this Wednesday, with maximum temperatures that may reach up to 38ºC.
In coastal areas of Málaga, Granada and Almería, it will not be so hot, barely cracking the 30-degree mark, and so no heat warnings have been issued.
Aemet will also have heat warnings active this Thursday July 4 and Friday 5 too, and currently the Thursday warnings are orange level in parts for temperatures that could get as high as 41ºC.
When confronted with very high temperatures like these, it is important to stay in the shade during the middle part of the day and to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
