ARCHIVED - Huelva city to attract tourists with new gastronomic getaways
The council in Huelva, Andalucia, is offering two-night getaways with a chance to discover the best of the city’s local food.
As councils across Andalucia work to improve tourist numbers following a huge drop in travellers during the pandemic, Huelva is taking advantage of its gastronomic routes and offering visitors the chance to enjoy two night getaways, complete with local cuisine.
The packages will include two nights’ accommodation and breakfast in a hotel, as well as dinners in a local restaurant, a guided tour of the city and a tapas route.
Visitors can choose between a Gastronomic Getaway or a Gourmet Getaway depending on the type of dinner they want to have, and prices range from €145 to €185 per person. The hotels taking part in the initiative are the AC, Tartessos, La Marina, NH Luz, and Familia Conde in Huelva, while four restaurants and five tapas bars are also getting involved to provide the food; ther promotion offering 500 reasons to visit the city for 48 hours..
The gastronomic packages will also be available to anyone staying in the participating hotels who did not book through the council’s getaways programme.
The packages are now on sale for weekends in June at www.regalahuelva.com in a bid attract tourists to the city and raise awareness of Huelva’s rich gastronomic heritage.
