The Met Office Gibraltar has shared a spectacular video of the Rock topped with an amazing easterly cloud
Gibraltar’s Weather Office has shared beautiful and captivating scenes of a Levanter cloud pushed by easterly winds as it rolls over the top of the Rock.
The video shows an easyJet flight bound for London Gatwick taking off from Gibraltar airport just as a bank of impressive Levanter cloud covers the iconic Rock of Gibraltar.

Levanter clouds are produced by the Levante easterly wind that brings warm moist air from the Mediterranean and condenses over the Rock, creating a veil of cloud above it.
As the Met Office exclaimed, “The levanter cloud just keeps getting better today!” It’s certainly made our day better.
