Irish climber, 21, falls to her death in Spain's Malaga
This is the second fatal accident in the area since December
A young woman has died after falling from a height of 500 feet while out climbing in Álora, in Málaga. The Irish woman, who was just 21 years old, fell on a hike on Friday afternoon, January 10, according to emergency services, who received the first call at 7.10pm.
The caller indicated that a person had fallen and was injured in the area of Sector Suizo, El Chorro. The Guardia Civil, the local police and the emergency services were all present on the scene.
When the emergency services reached the scene of the accident they found the woman already lying lifeless, and could do nothing to save her.
The young woman was accompanied by another climber who was not injured but was in an extreme state of shock.
This is the second fatal fall in the area since December. The other victim was a 20-year-old British man who was hiking with others and fell to his death in the middle of a 300-metre-high wall.
