Join the community for the Romería La Fuente festivities
A weekend of traditional fun, food, and celebration in Pulpí
If you are looking for a lively way to spend your upcoming bank holiday weekend, the Romería La Fuente in Pulpí promises plenty of community spirit. Running from Thursday April 30 to Sunday May 3, this popular local event offers a varied programme of social gatherings, music, and traditional celebrations for everyone to enjoy. The opening days
The festivities kick off on Thursday April 30 with a pre-romería event starting at 8.00pm. It is a great chance to head down early for some food from the grill, enjoy the bar, and maybe pick up some prizes while DJ PESP provides the soundtrack for the evening.
The main programme officially begins on Friday May 1 at 7.30pm with the inauguration, marked by the traditional sounding of rockets. The evening continues with a community dinner at 8.00pm, where the organising committee will be serving potatoes with garlic to all those attending. Later, the music gets going at 10.00pm with DJ Zapa, followed by a chocolate cake treat at 10.30pm. The party atmosphere carries on well into the early hours with DJ Rubén Ventura taking over for the youth fiesta from 12.30am.
A weekend of tradition
Saturday May 2 brings more of the classic romería atmosphere. Things start at 4.00pm with the gathering of floats, followed at 5.00pm by a parade alongside the Coro Rociero, accompanying the image of Ntra. Virgen de la Fuente from the church in Pulpí.
The procession is scheduled to arrive at the La Fuente park by 8.00pm. The evening entertainment includes a concert by the group Aires d'Veleta at 10.00pm, followed by more music to keep the party going from midnight with DJ Willi.illiw.
A relaxing Sunday
On Sunday May 3, the final day of the event focuses on a more relaxed pace:
- 1.00pm: Bar opens for the day.
- 2.00pm: A large rice dish will be served for all attendees.
- 4.00pm: Bingo session with some great prizes up for grabs.
- 5.00pm: Music session with DJ Peps.
- 7.30pm: The weekend concludes with a traditional Rociera Mass at the church in La Fuente.
Whether you are there for the music, the traditional parade, or just to catch up with friends and neighbours over some food, there is plenty on offer. Please note that bar and grill services will be available throughout the entire event.
