ARCHIVED - Juergas Rock Festival in Almeria postponed for second year
The Juergas Rock Festival in Almeria, Andalucia, was also postponed last year due to the pandemic.
As cities across Andalucia prepare to host some of the region’s most popular festivals again this summer, one event, the Juergas Rock Festival, has sadly been postponed again for another year.
The festival, which was due to take place from August 4 to 6 in Adra, Almeria, was cancelled after organisers said the scale of the attraction made it impossible to ensure the safety of everyone there.
After the festival was also cancelled last year because of the pandemic, organisers have said that they are confident the festival will now go ahead again next year, and on May 31 will be announcing which acts from this year’s festival will now play next year.
The announcement is a blow for the local economy in Adra, with large festivals attracting huge amounts of business for hotels, restaurants and shops, however tickets purchased for both the 2020 and 2021 festivals will be valid at next year’s event in good news for those wanting to take part next summer.
Those who no longer want to attend can ask for a refund within 14 days of June 1 by going to the box office or the festival’s website at www.thejuergasrockfestival.com.
