Love Island villa in Spain goes green
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
The new season of Love Island kicks off this June, and this time the villa has an added surprise

The latest season of Love Island is slated to hit TV screens on June 5, 2023, and this year there is a green twist to the show.
Love Island is filmed in Spain’s Balearic Islands, with the villa contestants stay at located on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
The envy of all viewers, the luxury Love Island villa has a massive swimming pool and spacious outside areas all around, not to mention unbeatable views of the Mediterranean Sea.
This year, the show’s producers have announced that the villa has an added extra, though – solar panels.
In an effort to make the villa and the ITV show as sustainable as possible, solar panels have been fitted to the roof, which are expected to lower the production team’s impact on the environment.
As Spain is such a sunny country, it is one of the best placed to take advantage of solar energy, and those homes in Spain that produce their own power through solar panels can make significant savings on their energy bills.
The sunniest place in Spain is officially Almeria, in the southeast of mainland Spain, and it is here that solar panels are most effective when installed on properties.
This latest series of Love Island is the second so far in 2023 and will be presented by Maya Jama.
