Making a Difference donates €1,000 to Mazarrón day centre for the disabled
The money will go towards funding a trip out for the day centre users

The charitable association Making a Difference has generously donated €1,000 to the users of the Centro de Día de Personas con Discapacidad day centre for the disabled in Mazarrón. This financial contribution will fund an excursion to the Rio Safari in Elche, a European Conservation Centre, providing attendees with a unique day of leisure and discovery.
The cheque presentation took place was attended by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and the Councillor for Social Policy, María Isabel Carrillo, who received the donation on behalf of the Day Centre. Expressing his gratitude, the mayor acknowledged the importance of such initiatives, highlighting the direct benefits for both the users and their families.
Scheduled for Saturday March 29, 2025, the excursion to Rio Safari will offer participants the chance to experience a range of engaging activities, including a train tour of the facilities, educational talks on various animal species, the chance to watch a sea lion show and get up close to animals they may never have encountered before.
This experience aims to provide a stimulating and inclusive day out, fostering social interaction among users, carers and professionals.
Thanks to the donation from Making a Difference, families will benefit from a significant reduction in the cost of participation, ensuring that all users can take part in this memorable event without financial barriers.
This initiative not only enriches the lives of the day centre users but also underscores the valuable role that community-driven organisations play in enhancing the wellbeing and social inclusion of individuals with disabilities in Mazarrón.
