ARCHIVED - Malaga closes beaches at night to combat rising Covid cases
The beaches in Málaga, Andalucía, will have restricted access from 11 at night until 7 in the morning until further notice
The Town Hall in Málaga has announced that they will be closing their beaches from 11pm to 7am from tonight (July 22), after the regional government proposed much stricter measures to combat the rising incidence rate in Andalucía.
Following the regional government’s guidelines, Málaga, which is in alert level two, has agreed to restrict access to its beaches at night to avoid a further increase in cases and to prevent gatherings of young people, the principal source of transmission in Spain at the moment .
However, there are some exceptions to the rule, such as fishing and other individual activities, and the ‘Open Cinema’ showings, which take place on the beach, will still go ahead with strict anti-Covid measures in place.
