ARCHIVED - Malaga opens new route to Fez in Morocco with Air Arabia
Two new flights a week linking Malaga to Morocco
Malaga-Costa del Sol airport has launched a new route this Tuesday (June 15) connecting Malaga in the Andalusia region with Fez in Morocco.
The AirArabia airline is operating the route linking both cities twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, with two flights each day, one arriving and the other departing.
The company will use an Airbus 320 with capacity for 174 passengers, and the service was inaugurated this Tuesday morning with the first two flights.
The director of the Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport, Pedro Bendala, and the head of the Commercial division, Laura Rosales, accompanied the Moroccan consul in Algeciras, Rafaoui Mohammed, at the start of the route; the director of the Moroccan Tourism Office in Andalusia, Bijjou Azzeddine; the regional manager of AirArabia for France, Spain and Portugal, Khalid Chakrane Bachtiri, and the person in charge of Mundimaroc, Marco Antonio Jarillo.
The new route to Fez consolidates AirArabia's commitment to Malaga's infrastructure, and is the third one implemented by the airline in the last six months; the connection with Casablanca began on December 15, 2020, and the Nador route started in January 2021.
The route offers a regular connection both for tourists and Moroccan emigrants seeking to return to the country by air following the suspension of Operación Estrecho this year.
