ARCHIVED - Malaga man dies after being hit by train trying to save his dog
The young man died following a blow to the head by the Andalucía train
A 27-year-old man sadly lost his life in Malaga on Saturday night, April 30, after being hit in the head by a train whilst trying to save his dog from the tracks in the municipality of Ronda.
The tragic accident was witnessed by several onlookers waiting at the rail line at Calle Doctor del Pino, according to the emergency services, who received a call to the scene at 9.20pm. Local and National Police officers sped to the site of accident, along with a Critical Care and Emergency Device (DCCU) unit, who were unfortunately unable to save the young man.

ADIF sources have indicated that the accident occurred when the man approached the tracks to pick up his dog because a train was coming, and it hit him on the head.
The train was travelling the Antequera-Algeciras line at the time of the incident, and although none of the passengers or the driver were injured, the route was halted while the emergency services attended to the victim.
