May 10-12 San Pedro Folk Music Festival

Discover timeless melodies and dances in San Pedro del Pinatar

There’s not long to wait now for the San Pedro del Pinatar Folk Music Festival, which kicks off on Sunday May 10 and runs until May 12. The entire event is free for everyone and was launched this week by San Pedro’s Councillor for Culture, Carmen María López.

The inauguration of the much-anticipated event was also attended by Marcos David Garcia, the director of the Barón de Benifayo Museum, which will serve as the venue for the festival, alongside Alicia Baltasar, director of Surefolk.

The festivities will commence on May 10 at 9pm with El Caltorrillas taking centre stage, presenting "En el baile bailando." This performance aims to highlight popular music and dance within a contemporary context, inviting concert goers to appreciate and engage with folk song and dance like never before.

To conclude this year's edition, Malvariche will perform on May 12 at 12pm, offering up more than three decades of expertise in playing folk music. The captivating female vocals of Mari Tudela add a unique charm to their repertoire, ensuring a delightful experience for listeners of all ages.

With a focus on promoting traditional Spanish music, Pinatar Folk features various concert performances by esteemed artists known for both their artistic excellence and representation of diverse cultural landscapes.

San Pedro del Pinatar Tourist Office The municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar has one principal tourist information office which is open throughout the year, and then other tourist information points which open during the peak summer months.
