May 11 Water Festival at Sunseed, Almería
With live music, tasty food, a craft market and fun activities, you can come along and join the community in Almería to learn about sustainability and caring for the environment

Sunseed is a non-formal educational project for the social ecological transition located in the countryside of Almería. With “more than 35 years of play, work, research, learning and experimenting”, they aim to “inspire and involve people from around the world to join the movement towards a culture of people and planet care”.
The Water Festival in May promises to be a day of awareness-raising about water sustainability, and there will be workshops and talks on these topics and environmental justice. You can also enjoy a guided tour of both the Sunseed facility and the Río Aguas river.
The festival day will also feature live music from local artists, an artisan market selling sustainable, eco-friendly goods, and activities for children to be able to connect with nature, plus delicious vegan food available for everyone.
To learn together and enjoy a day full of art, community and consciousness, head to Sunseed Desert Technology (click to see location and directions).
As well as their May festival, Sunseed is open to volunteers from April through November 2025. For a minimum of two weeks, volunteers will be able to experience life in the Sunseed community while working and learning in either the gardens, drylands, eco-maintenance, sustainable living or education department. If you are interested in volunteering, you can fill in this Google form online and if you have any questions you can email communication@sunseed.org.uk.
