Midsummer temperatures arrive: Spain weather forecast May 26-29
Temperatures will approach 40ºC in large parts of Spain by the end of the week

Average temperatures expected in Spain on Thursday May 29
It’s been a long time coming but summer has finally arrived in Spain, with May predicted to end with temperatures more typical of July. While the week will begin mild enough, the mercury is expected to continue to rise as the days go by, reaching a sweltering 40ºC in the extreme south.
Monday May 26

Monday will be clear and pleasant in most of the country with the exception of the far north, where some light, scattered rain is likely early on.
Temperatures will rise almost universally, with the largest jumps forecast in Andalucía and the southern Balearic Islands. Highs of 35ºC are predicted for the Guadalquivir. The evenings will also start becoming gradually warmer across the board.
Tuesday May 27

Mostly cloudless skies are on the cards again Tuesday with virtually no rain forecast, although the mountainous areas of the Canary Islands could see a little drizzle at times.
Day-time temperatures are expected to reach 34-36ºC in large areas of the southwest, even exceeding 36-38ºC in the Guadalquivir.
Wednesday May 28

Stable weather is expected to continue across most of the country, although there could be some periods of afternoon clouds leading to light, scattered showers in mountainous areas of the southeast.
The mercury will shoot up, topping 36ºC in most of the southwest and touching a scorching 38ºC in parts. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated a yellow weather alert for extremely high temperatures in Andalucía from 1pm onwards.
Thursday May 29

Thursday’s forecast is much the same as the previous day, with mostly clear and sunny skies, although some suspended dust could arrive in the extreme south of Spain.
Incredibly, the temperatures will continue to rise across the country and the thermometers could even hit 40ºC in parts of the Guadiana and Ebro rivers. Despite this, no weather alerts have been issued for Thursday.
